There are a lot of gib and alternate deaths floating around for the stock monsters. Torm started a thread in the Workshop with the suggestion that we collect these animations and put them on the SFX Shoppe. If you have an alternate animation, post it here with the proper credits (get permission, first, if necessary), and it'll be added to the list. Once the alternate deaths that are generally known are collected, we'll put together the Decorate for it, organize them into wads (a wad for each monster), and submit them in one single zip. So as not to clutter the first post and to encroach ever closer to Torm's post count, saying this as a separate post: I'll collect Eriance's gib deaths from DE, myself, so don't worry about those.

My ex did beheaded zombies, imps, and nazis with walking and falling frames. He also did zombies, imps, nazis, demons and cacodemons with a green crossbow bolt buried in them as they die.

There's also some other enemies. The flamethrower marine (I think from Diaz... But I'm really not sure) with a crossbow bolt in his neck, the Hell Rose (that plant monster from Blood) on fire, the rebel from strife with a crossbow bolt in his chest, and uh... I think that's it.

He told me that he didn't care who did what with them, which I guess constitutes permission and/or credit. Want 'em?

I'm not sure, actually. On the one hand, they seem too specific to be very useful, but one the other people still could use them... I'll leave the decision on whether or not to include those to Torm.

In any case, alternate deaths for the Hellrose or other R667 monsters is another ball of yarn altogether. This thread's just for stock monsters (and for the moment, only Doom stock monsters, since Heretic, Hexen and Strife don't have very many alternate deaths yet).

So, is there already any progress on this? Or something I could help with?

Oh, yeah, I've been meaning to catch Eriance on Starcraft 2 to ask for permission to use the DE gibs (he'll say yes, but I like asking anyway ). As for alternate deaths, Genesis Saga, by Ryan_Cordell on ZDoom, has a lot of the more classic alternate deaths, so I'll ask him.

Someone would have to pour through ItsNatureToDie's thread and gather up the better alternate deaths (And ask for permission ).

Well, I can gather all of them and maybe even slice them for you, could you ask for permission then and put them together? My time is pretty limited so we definitely need to work together

Is this just for 'exisiting' alternate deaths that are already around the internet? Or also new custom ones as long as they actually look good?
