It's a little bit cartoonish, IMO. (maybe because the outlines)

I like this weapon, very cool. I agree though it does look a bit more cartoony than the stock Doom stuff, and the projectiles are missing decals.

but i agree with captaintoenail, the projectiles are missing decals, it could be something like the hexen sword scorch?

Tested it and here are some issues:

- Raising/lowering the weapon is not smooth.
- It't hard to see when firing (maybe because of the size of the projectile's sprite?).
- Since the weapon is angled it is better to 'offset' the projectile to make it looks like it's being fired from the weapon instead of the center.
- And the decal issue as mentioned by the others.

Very nice work but as already stated, too cartoonish. The style even clashes with the hand holding it. It's contrast is too high, especially for the outlines of the single components that build the weapon.

Reducing this might already achieve the wanted improvement.
