Another of D'Sparil's undead minions. A winged skull glowing with sickly necrotic energy, they charge and shock anyone unfortunate enough to stray too close. Alone they are a nuisance, but in swarms can be deadly. Often found gliding through burial grounds at night, or summoned by mages under D'Sparil's control as a distraction in combat.

Hmm, its shading needs a bit of work, but otherwise, good. :D

Although its behaviour is similar to the Lost Soul's, somehow I like it. However, the skull could use a bit of cleaning-up (there are gray/black bits here and there on the tan-colored skull). It could also use a darker shade for the wings and possibly black horns.

Hmm, what do you mean? Does it look too cartoony or something? Apart from the glow being purple it is exactly like it is in Shadowcaster.

It does, and that's pretty much the issue I have with Shadowcaster monsters in Heretic. Aside from attack-frame rotations and very few frames in the death animation, the shading makes it stand out a ton, when put alongside Heretic's monsters.

Unfortunately Ghastly is pretty much right. I tried it ingame and the shading is definitely a problem, it simply doesn't fit :(

Add this to the actor definition:

Code:
   +SHADOW
   +GHOST
   RenderStyle Add
   Alpha 0.4

Problem solved, IMO.
I want YOU to read the wiki.
And this one too. Also, SLADE3.

This is what it looks like in-game with Gez's suggestion. Better?

That looks aright, though I'd try to deemphasize some of the dark pixels around the skull's border, so the glow looks more like a glow and less of a simple colored outline.
