Title: H3M5 "untitled"
Author: Egregor
Difficulty: none yet, WIP
Description:

Corvus enters a seemingly abandoned mining system deep bellow the earth. He eventually stumbles upon a stone door that has long been sealed. After discovering a switch that opens it he travels deeper into the cave network as it begins to give way to lava pools. An underground temple has been built into the lava and once inside it becomes the 'meat' of the level.

The temple itself is centered around a large circular lava pit with a large pillar in the center. That pillar actually contains the exit. surrounding the pit is several other towers that are all connected through a series of bridges. The level is large, but not too large. It is semi-linear, with some reinvented backtracking and interconnection. I feel it has been interwoven in an impressive manner. Visually the themes of this level will be mining caves, then metal, gothic, and lava.

Episode: Hell and Fire
Screenshots: too WIP for screenshots

Yeah, looking forward. Do you already have SVN access?

@Torm: No, I haven't messed with the SVN yet. Here's why:

I just now have a skeleton 'flow chart' outline of this level that I am satisfied with. Its not quite sandbox, but it is more complex than a linear map. The beginning will focus on a cavern/catacomb lava system that will eventually give way to an underground metal/goth fortress (as I imagine many E3 levels will) but I got a few neat ideas. I noticed E3M5 is being claimed by others besides myself. I think we should be open to re-arranging map slots. I know I at least I am, so put this map where ever it makes sense in the episode. I'm going to try and focus on making this map challenging but not hard when it comes time to place enemies. While I plan on using zdoom-isms, and the new beastiary/items they will be icing on the cake. Right now I am focusing on getting a solid 'vanilla' foundation.

Well, in general it's no problem, as there are still other slots open for you in E3. Though, before you start with the development, you definitely need SVN access for the resources and stuff. Just let me know as soon as you read the info in the stickies concerning this :)

I've been filling in the level's outline and its starting to take shape and feel like an actual level. Also, I have finished posting HYMN's Alpha v2b, so I will be shifting my focus here for a bit (until I focus back on HYMN's Beta in a month or so). My next goal here is to access the SVN stuff and get to work adding in HPack material. I will post again once I have done this.
