A quick update for you guys, yesterday I've been busy working on it! At least, until my crush gave me a headache :D Blasted women!

This is still the main area, it's supposed to be a polished hub kinda room.

There are 12 pedestals lowered into the ground you see there, they are bouncy. The goal of the map is to raise all 12 to reach the central tower, and jump into the chamber with the fluorescent blue crystal to finish the map.
To raise the pedestals, the players will have to complete challenges, some fighting based, some requiring cognitive skills.
Most likely there will be 10 or 12 portals from this hub area leading to the seperate challenges which should be doable in whatever order the players want, so they could either try to complete challenges together cooperatively, or if they are skilled, they could speed up the gameplay and split up to work on their own.

I'm very satisfied with how the surrounding pillar wall for this area came out. I'm not entirely happy with the textures though... I could really use a red/white marble floor or something.. but that can wait.

Eventually I'll redesign the skybox too, I think.

I, in the map assign thread wrote:
Hey guys.

I should have made an update about my map a long time ago.
I think I've mentioned it to Torm when I joined that I have a tendency to lose interest in stuff, and I kinda have for a long time now unfortunately.

Since the last screenshots I've posted of my map I've made only miniscule progress, I'm not even sure if it's worth keeping.
However I do still remember what I had planned to do with the map, so if you guys are interested, I'll post the basic idea of the map in its own topic and upload it in its current state for someone to pick up.

I still think this pack is a great idea and I really love the thought of drawing more attention towards Heretic from the community, but I've got enough distraction from worrying about my future as it is, you could say I'm concentrating my creativeness somewhere else. (as my long-term goal is to be a game developer)

I don't want to give up on the map permanently, but there's only a very slim chance of me coming back to it, so I don't want to take up a slot unnecessarily and slow down the development of this mappack. If anyone needs a map slot, mine would be open for taking.

Let me know if any of you are interested in this map.

The basic idea of it was to make the player(s) do different kinds of puzzles to raise the black slabs in the central area as seen in the last screenshot, each puzzle raising one slab or something like that, as well as unleash a group of monsters. Failing a puzzle would also punish the players in a way. Raising the last slab would lead the players to the tower in the absolute middle which would complete the map and yank them out of the realm of dementia.
