You don't seem to have understood the root (heh) of the criticism. The point wasn't that there should be root; the point was that it was cut abruptly as if the Doomguy's eyes were under the sole of his shoes.

So now you've added some roots, but they still get cut abruptly all at the same level; and it still looks flat.

The idea is to take volume by having the parts that are below the eye lines and in front of the player go forward by going downward. The parts that go off to the side get cut a bit earlier (they don't drop as much below the floor line). This gives volume to the sprite.

Again, this picture illustrates it well:

I want YOU to read the wiki.
And this one too. Also, SLADE3.

Well you may as well reject it if you want me to fix that so much. Because I can't round the roots without making the whole thing look silly.

It's just a simple perspective thing that takes seconds to fix. Would be a shame to lose these trees becuase they are really excellent already, was going to use them in the ZDCMP2 in Hell. Also I am sure Freedoom/heretic would love to get their hands on these. ;-)

You just need to do something similiar to these crude edits here.

It looks silly. Image

And I'm not saying you can't use it, unless you guys are on a strict R667 diet.

So... The 'oficial' R667 version will have the roots?
