This forum can be used to work on reviews and to request reviews. Use the [REQUEST] and [SUBMISSION] prefix tags as appropriate.

If you are writing reviews, create one thread per review. Once a review is accepted by the reviewing staff, it will be posted on the site.

The rules for requesting reviews are quite simple:

1. Requests are not orders. Reviews are written by whoever wants to write one, nobody has a duty to do so. Don't complain or insist excessively if nobody steps forward to fulfill your request.
2. Reviews are for the long term. Don't ask for reviews of WIP and other unfinished mods. Provide permanent links (preferably a Doomworld/idgames link). If the mod isn't on the idgames archive, please provide at least a mirror (the idgames archive feature six mirrors). Do not use unreliable temporary hosts such as Rapidshare or Megaupload. The link should be expected to be still working ten years from now.
3. Provide a reason. Why do you think the mod should be reviewed? This will both justify your request and hopefully motivate someone in reviewing the mod, so think of a good reason, not just "I want to read one" or "I thought it'd be cool".

You can use the following template to request reviews:

Name: name of the mod
Links: link 1, link 2, etc.
Reason: type something inspiring here

Can we also specify no joke wads?

Good idea, yes.

Well, banning entire types of mod seems arbitrary in a binding way. Things like TurboCharged ARCADE! are generally considered jokewads, but I wouldn't see much merit in banning reviews of it. Some things are also not jokewads, but demanding a review of it could be considered a form of trolling (infamous stuff Nazi Auferstehung or Doom Rampage Edition).

Likewise, even though origwad is respected for its historical interest, a review of it would be meaningless. So I don't think there's a real need to try to make well-defined categories for what's acceptable and what's not. Admin/moderator discretion is enough.
