I was about to drop in and say something in the area of "There's no practical reason not to use UDMF," but I didn't think about the system compat issue. I take DB2 for granted a bit too much, I suppose. :P

Here's to hoping that Dusk gets things up n' working. I strongly think that we need to stick to one format or the other (transitioning midway is just going to lead to unnecessary snags) and UDMF seems to be winning. Don't want to see someone let go because of it.

The first X slots could be done in Hexen format, and then the map converted to UDMF and finished this way.

And what about phase 2? :(

I'll try see if I can get DB2 working somehow...

Maybe SLADE 3 will have basic editing finished by then. :D
I want YOU to read the wiki.
And this one too. Also, SLADE3.

I guess there won't happen much until the next few hours, so we can at least say: The decision has been made, we are going for UDMF ... let's just hope Dusk got DB2 working or Gez got Slade3 mapping working :P

It's Simon that's working on the map editor. I can't do much in that part.

I'm having a bit of trouble there.. I don't know much about windows and just reinstalling DB2 doesn't help. I did find an older hard drive with a (hopefully) working windows installation, maybe if I somehow can bring the said installation to my laptop I could get DB2 working.

On the other hand, it might be too crazy to work. :/

Do you need a full installation instance of windows? ... maybe I can get you an ISO (but don't tell anyone if I do)
