Okay, so. Currently, we have quite a few options for ports to write about for our reviews.
Vanilla Doom, Boom Compatible, ZDoom Compatible, GZDoom, Skulltag, EDGE, Eternity, Doomsday, and Risen3D. Right, that's quite a nice and varied selection to pick from.
Problem being, some of them are based off the assumption that what we'll be reviewing is for Doom. What if I want to write something for Vanilla Chex Quest, or something from HeXen compatible with all sorts of ports?

I would suggest replacing the "Vanilla Doom" option with just "Vanilla", so it can be applied to all sorts of different games, and add another option--"Any Limit Removing".

By the way, what about a place to put links to wiki articles? (Either on [wiki]ZDoom Wiki[/wiki] or on the [dwiki]Doom Wiki[/dwiki], or both, as applicable.)

I've added yesterday links to R667 reviews on the wiki articles that a) existed and b) had one. That means, [wiki]Dynamite Deathmatch[/wiki], [wiki]Scourge of Viscerus[/wiki], [wiki]Old Memories[/wiki], [wiki]Titan 2[/wiki], [wiki]Ultimate Simplicity[/wiki], [wiki]Runaway Train[/wiki] and [wiki]Brütal Doom[/wiki]. It would be cool if there were also links back the other way. It means readers can get further information and screenshots and a different viewpoint if so they want.

(Well, not for Dynamite Deathmatch given that it has no article written for it yet; just a placeholder.)
I want YOU to read the wiki.
And this one too. Also, SLADE3.

That's a very very good idea indeed and I totally agree with that.

Should I also add a "Wiki-Link" field to the review submission form then for backlinking from the reviews to the wiki entry if there is one?

Didn't see this earlier. Oops.

Yeah, I guess.

I manually added it to the latest review, A World in Strife: Raiding the Dam. What do you think?

/me likes - so if everyone agrees, I should add it to the formular I guess, even though it will be a bit difficult considering that some mods do not have a wiki page...

How about a video review supplement, to help demonstrate the reviewer's thoughts and show off the mod's strengths/weaknesses before the player downloads it?
I uploaded a video showing off a bit off Raiding the Dam, should I try and make vids of previous reviews?

Embedding videos on the Joomla part is very, very hard. Because this software is paranoid about iframes and objects. Only SuperDuperUltraSecretPrivilegedAdministrators can successfully embed them, and even then they have to pull out the big guns and use the raw source code editor and undergo a retinal scan first.

Otherwise, the software just strips down all the offending HTML parts. So, you had something like this:
Code:
<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" style="width:425px; height:350px;" data="http://www.youtube.com/v/GopMCKn1MTw">
   <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/GopMCKn1MTw" />
</object>

And you'll end up with just this:
Code:
   <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/GopMCKn1MTw" />

Which of course will not do anything. A param tag disconnected from an object is simply ignored.

(Same deal if you use iframe instead of object. It's cleaned out too.)

But you can link to a video.

I like the idea about review videos and it actually works pretty fine in Joomla.

Have you tried the media manager button?
