Only main things I can think of that GZDoom can do at this point that ZDoom cannot are 3D models, better eye-candy and full vertical mouselook, none of which are essential. The main problem would have been 3d floors but they more or less work in software mode now! <3

Yeah, exactly my thought!
If people really want, they could still add dynamic lights where they seem fitting, as those will simply be ignored by Zdoom (IIRC).
No problem as long as an area doesn't rely on them (as in a pitch black room for example).

Actually to my knowledge ZDoom doesn't have pointlight definitions at all... so they'd just appear as exclamation marks of doom. Not sure was it recently changed, though..

I guess this is a demonstration of floor panning in UDMF mode?

I really like some of the new decorations, especially those warping underwater plants.

Nice, someone finally used my gimmicky underwater weeds. :-))

There's also a texture that is a combo of the green Gargoyle head and the grinning HUD face of Doomguy.
It looks kind of cool, but is it only me or does anyone else think it looks more like a gimmick/joke rather than a serious texture?

This was a silly joke texture that I uploaded to a ZDoom texture thread. I'm surprised someone actually used it. Personally I like it there, but I would say that wouldn't I? ;-)

Those constructive criticisms apply, but I know how to continue the map off from where it currently is! It's important for me because, well, I'm nexht!

Just wait until this evening, I will fix all the mentioned stuff just now.

@Vader - Thanks for the suggestions, this is what I've just done:

The new Colormap

As I said, just a suggestion, we can still stick to the original one, I just wanted to know what others thing. Beyond, at least some variation to the original colormap (greens and blues) would help a lot to make it look a bit better.

The light gradient textures around the ceiling lamps

Actually as Toenail already said, it's a great opportunity to showcase the possibilites of UDMF, and beyond I don't think it looks that bad, that's why I left it as it is.

I would get rid of that warping water texture there (it looks fine when viewing into the water though

The cable textures already have been mentioned

The cables are already replacements from me, they look similar but have been rebuild in Photoshop. No other resources from TSoZD have been taken, don't worry. :)

Shouldn't the Tormentor easteregg be hidden a little?

It's actually like in ZDCMP1: No need to hide references, it's fine to make these obvious.

forgot to mention that the see-through floor near the switch seems to change it's brightness when stepping over it... in software mode at least.

Doesn't happen to me?!

Yes, it's a gimmick :)

Other than that, new link here:

I hope I covered everything so far, if not, there is still the "Detail and Bugfixing Phase" ;)

More things to report:

  • The door you open with the switch closes a bit too fast. Setting the close delay to 4 seconds would be better.
  • The Doom doll needs to either be a non-solid actor or have a smaller radius size.
  • You could get stuck here if you ran on top of the box and then fall down when picking up the armor.

As for the palette, I have to agree with the others.

Have you tried it in the software renderer? I noticed that it only happens with it but not wiht OpenGL.

The lower windows still have this.

Also there's this:

BTW: I made a palette for AOW2 at one point which only got into a beta release before getting discarded. It has the same kind of emerald green, along with a slightly desaturated blue while keeping the rest of the ranges the same.

Just putting that out there. :)

Make those fixes, cause I'm using the resources to build more level architecture continuing from where Torm left off! And I have a few decorations and such to add!

Oh dear. Didn't expect for you to be done with your slot so early! The earliest I'm going to get the weapon+enemy resource polished is probably going to be sometime tomorrowish. Currently in the process of finalizing the enemy list, though, so that's something. :P

Okay, forget about it. I am currently online with my laptop as I have serious problems with my main computer (doesn't boot properly, crashes randomly and no internet is working at all - virus I guess), so I can't fix the problems on my own. But everyone feel free to do it as soon as you are working on it, I am okay with the latest mentioned fixes.

@Xaser - No problem, no need to hurry :) I can't do anything right now anyway ...
