Similar to my thoughts on secondary fire, some sort of in-game explanation on grenades would be very helpful for the player, particularly with the whole "holding down the F key to throw" mechanism.

Likewise, the ring-pulling animation is quite slow and makes the grenades even more difficult to use. I'd much prefer a CoD-style quick pull-and-throw-instantly unless the key is held. I'd then want the grenade to make some sounds to let us know it's cooking - particularly because they do eventually cook-off and just blow you up instead. As is they're actually the most dangerous thing in the map for me :P

I already sped up the ring-pull animation once. Not sure how many more tics I can squeeze out of it.

Some sort of in-game explanation would be nice, though. A small HUDMessage that appears when you get it, perhaps.

Honestly, I'd want it done so quickly that I barely see it. 1 tic per frame, maybe 2 depending on the number of frames it has.

I mentioned this the last time this came up but have the player pull the ring in the raising animation rather than raise then pull.

Anyhow, this might be closable in the near future. While my latest changes haven't gone "live" just yet (I passed them right to Apothem since I was exhausted Sunday night), I actually did manage to reduce the animation by a few tics and also eliminated the drop behavior since it seemed to cause more harm than good. Tapping the key once will throw it with a 3-second fuse now, hopefully resulting in a lot less self-destruction. ;)

Also, I increased the radius and damage again, which I figure is justifiable now that they're pretty rare in the map. It melts crowds of little guys and deals a pretty good amount of damage (up to 200) against other types.
