Sunlust

Tormentor667

SunlustIt's already been a while since Ribbick released Sunlust, a project which has been worked on by him and his partner Dannebubinga, but it's certainly one of the releases you must not miss at all costs. The maps tease with stunning visuals and a different approach of map design that hasn't been seen for a while in the community. It is a set of 32 boom-compatible maps for Doom II, designed to be played from pistol start. The maps meander through a range of themes, from traditional bases and temples to abstract hellish, void, and tech aesthetics. UV is designed primarily for ubermensch doom-gods, thus they encourage most players to start off on HMP or lower. The project is finally done and can be downloaded from the development thread or directly from /idgames.

Five Rooms is enough

The community has already proven to be very creative when it comes to restrictions. Not only in the early beginnings of Vanilla but also in later days, just remember the 10 Sectors Contest of Doomworld in the late 90's. Keeper of Jericho had another interesting idea,…

Icarus 2015

One of the greatest achievements in the Doom history was definitely TeamTNT's Icarus project. 32 maps in the same quality and style as we already know from Final Doom. Good things come to those who wait: Almost 2 decades after it's release, the mapper Eternal released a…

Mutiny

Just stumbled upon a project led by 40oz which totally caught my attention: Mutiny. It is a 16-level, Limit Removing Community Project Episode for Doom 2 intended to be the spiritual successor of late 90's cyberpunk themed wads such as STRAIN, Hacx, Nimrod, Dystopia 3,…

Yet another installment of the /newstuff Chronicles has been published a few days ago - and despite the mixed quality of reviews and maps - it is surely worth reading and looking through. One of the projects I'd like to mention is definitely 32in24 14, yet another…
