Well, I noticed that there isn't a thread for the Intermap there, so I opened this one for the purpose.
A couple of things that I wanted to take in consideration and not lost track were:

  • Do we need to have a destroyed version of this map near the end of the game?
  • Do we need to add a Training camp somewhere as of introduction for players?
  • Do we need to add some sort of museum just as a nice addition, as if it was something connected to easter eggs?
  • What else we must take in consideration to improve the map?
  • Does it really need to be improved though?

    No, this wouldn't fit into the plot. I had this idea at the beginning but as of now there is no more need to go after that.

    Depending, it's not a bad idea indeed, introducing the player to the new game mechanics (running, grenades, reload, things that are new and not usual to Doom)

    Ok I noticed a couple of minor issues today during a brief playtesting with most recent build of GZDoom (just to let you know)

  • We open the secret chest, we get the stuff and empty it. Then we'll be able to see it closed though after turning back from a mission. Is it intentional?
  • During the C1M2 briefing slideshow we'll se an Auschwitz image (the 4th one): do we need to replace it with something else considering C3M2 Dragonfly map (so save it for that map instead)?
  • Better go for a climbable texture there I guess

    Well it could be a bit tricky to explain, but I'll try to tell you my idea:

  • We build a "trophy" or a "museum" like room inside HQ
  • Once in, we can see only empty caskets with unreadable plaques below them for now
  • We find a nice easter egg
  • Something like a counter is added inside BJ inventory when such object "sees" the player
  • When we return to HQ, the e-e will be displayed inside one of above caskets and connected plaque becomes readable, spoiling finally to us what is it or whatever
  • At last we can also add a counter for kills in order to give BJ some nice prizes once in HQ

  • Just a funny thing that could give to players the curiosity to find all of those e-e during gameplay.

    If you want to expand HQ,you may like the idea of a weapon storage room or garage for vehicles to show that the allies have vehicles

    Adding something to the INTERMAP is just an option if it gives an additional value to the map. As of now, I'd like to keep everything as it is as long as we aren't finished with the main maps.

    There should definitely be an extended "live action" playable real mission version of this map.
    Maybe the HQ gets captured by Fallschirmjägers at some point and needs to be cleaned out?

    It sounds like fun, it would extend the game, and require only minimal reworking...

    I have thought about this several times now, but it simply doesn't fit into the plot of Blade of Agony. Though, I'd keep this in the pipeline for a possible sequel :)

    Is it possible for a hostile actor to only attack upon hearing an attack? Like, seeing the player won't trigger an attack/chase but hearing a gunshot would.

    In any event, the keycards *should* work out-of-the-box, provided you are using them in a ZDoom-format map (as opposed to a legacy Doom 2 format map).

    Try to use GZDoom! :) It is simple as Doom Builder but have much more functions than Doom Builder 2.

    @newuser Simply deactivate heuristics before downloading the .pk3 file, then exclude the .exe file with the antivirus
