Nice to always see new starter weapons. 2ndly, your file format doesn't conform to a .pk3. it conforms to a .wad lump directory which is more adaptable for nesting inside other .pk3 files. When creating a .pk3 file. You need to include a 'sounds' and 'sprites' folder along with any Brightmaps you include (if any). All in all, the decorate is fine. It's faster than the vanilla pistol. Although, that's not a bad thing, the sprite itself is very flat in texturing. Looks unfinished, have a look at the original doom pistol and the colt45 from the repository for texturing ideas. Sound is fine, animation is fine. Added, are screenshot camera files I've taken. Apologies for the quality. Cameras and computer screens aren't friends. Add the coding //$Category Weapons and //$Title "item name" so it's easier to index the actor. It's not a requirement for the game but makes it easier for modders and mappers. Second photo shows the proper layout for a .pk3. you must create the .pk3 as a .pk3. only .pk3's can have folder creation. Your original download did not. Conclusion: some refinements on the sprite work and some adjustments on file type and decorate (if you want) and this will be excellent. Sorry about the size of the attachments.
