The term "Springfield rifle" may refer to any one of several types of small arms produced by the Springfield Armory in Springfield, Massachusetts, for the United States armed forces. In modern usage, the term "Springfield rifle" most commonly refers to the Springfield Model 1903 for its use in both world wars. There were also numerous limited production, experimental, marksmanship, and sporting rifles produced by the Springfield Armory which are referred to as "Springfield rifles." Some examples of the smoothbore Springfield Model 1842 musket that were later modified with rifling and used during the American Civil War may also be called "Springfield rifles."")* was created by *Doomperson 999*

This was submitted a long time ago as a [ Kar98](https://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?p=426715&hilit=Kar98#p426715). I wouldn't mind this being resubmitted, but there are a lot of changes that need to be made:

- First, info and credits need to be in the OP and inside the file, and make sure the credits are correct, because your credits don't coincide with the originals.
- The file needs to be packed as a pk3 file, using directories to organize data. If you don't know how to do it, check the latest submissions so you get an idea.
- Sounds need to be converted to ogg, and sprites to PNG.
- The original sprites use both Doom and Blood hands. You need to stick to one style of hands.

I think I can do some of these, but the sprite changing might be a bit difficult, mostly because I have 0 experience with spriting. I'll convert the sprites and sounds, and add the credits, but... "because your credits don't coincide with the originals." What does that mean, exactly? Are the credits misinformed?

Yeah, yours didn't include lolo_is_cool as the author of the original code and sprites, so I had my doubts. This is what the text file of the original file says:
