Main Plot
The introduction starts with our hero William, who is getting back to active duty after receiving a letter from his old friend Douglas during the WW2, who calls him back to the arms in 1944 where Europe is a battlefield and it's not clear how long the war will last. The US has joined the battle, but in secret, Hitler is working on something that could make the Krauts win the war in the end - but it's all only thoughts, nothing is clear for the player.

In Chapter 1, BJ finds out about Hitler's search for an ancient artifact (the Spear of Destiny) that could turn the tides of war (the Third Reich is on the edge of defeat) and that General Schwabbelhals, head of the Africa Corps is searching for the artifact in Tunis (C1M1), that's where BJ drops in and finds important files that need to be deciphered. After the start of the first chapter, BJ enters the headquarters (Intermission Map) meeting a lot of former friends but also new people who already have heard about him and his heroic past. The first episode is about gathering the information about Hitler's plans and getting the spear of Destiny. He later (in C1M2) frees one of his agent comerades (which is actually a double agent, but more on that later). In the meantime, other missions will happen that aren't directly connected to the main plot. After some while, the road leads (C1M5) back to northern Egypt (C1M6) where BJ enters an excavation site, but he comes too late, he finds the "Spear of Destiny" but got cought by the Nazis taking the Spear for their own. He ends up in a Gestapo prison. --END OF CHAPTER 1

In Chapter 2, BJs main goal is to escape from the prison (C2M1) first. After that, it isn't really clear what happened to the Spear or if it is special powers or not. Things like that should only be part of the NPC dialogues in the intermission. The missions itself will be based on the Nazi movement of "Thor's Hammer", a group of scientists and soldiers which are doing scientific and technological stuff to win the war, e.g. C1M0 (Eisenmann mutants), C2M2 (intelligent drones) and C2M5 (most propably UFOs) . Beyond he enters a french town/castle (C2M3, lookign for clues to "Thor's Hammer"), another trip to Africa (C2M4) (maybe some more clues concerning the Spear of Destiny and that there might be an equivalent weapon, the Blade of Agony) and after an open business, he hunts down the "Thor's Hammer" movement (C2M5, an ufo base), which ultimately leads him to the secret "Hades Project" (C2M6_x) where his next step is Scandinavia. Being there, his way leads him to Iceland (after finding out the definite location of the "Hades Facility") and he accidentally mostly finds the excavation site the nazis found. Maybe as he was actually focused destryoing the facility (or at least heavily damaging him). This time BJ is faster, gets new artifact instead of the spear (which is the Blade of Agony) and escapes after he kills General Schwabbelhals. He finds out that the Blade is some kind of Kryptonite for the Spear - are equally strong. One important twist and turn in episode 2 is the death of Dirty Douglas (as well as General Schwabbelhals) at the end of the episode, he is killed by the double agend you freed who is also revealing his nazi identity then. -- END OF CHAPTER 2

Chapter 3, the conclusion. Douglas is dead, but Ascher will take his place and lead you through the mission as your comerade. Maybe we need to make sure he has some more important roles in Chapter 2 already to make yourself comfortable with him (I would like to make him act like some kind of Casanova in C2, fits well with Dean is in real-life, a nice homage in my eyes :)) Currently the question is what happens to the Blade of Agony after BJ found it. In most of the missions, the double agent is part of the plot where he gets in BJs ways, attacks him, closes doors before him (like in Prince of Persia) and makes his life harder. You can expect german towns in forests, german cities destroyed (C3M3, after bombardements, BJ kills the double Agent here finally), a concentration camp (C3M2, where he finally kills the Schabbs Doctor for all good) and a lot of occult stuff after the technical and science-stuff has been destroyed in C2 then before the final mission, gets back to the destroyed headquarter, everyone is slaughtered and dead (C3M5) thanks to our double agent who informed Hitler before his death (the prleude to wolfenstein), then mountain passes (C3M6_A) and finally, he enters Castle Wolfenstein (C3M6_B). This is also the episode where the occult stuff is getting a central piece of the battles and plot. BJ kills Hitler with the sword while he is fighting with the spear of destiny and - bam, he is dead and europe is safe, game plays the "Hitler is dead"-radio spot. -- END OF CHAPTER 3

This sounds short, but with enough side missions and a good integration of various gametypes, it could be the perfect length of an interesting middle-sized project.

Below you will find a list of settings and ideas that we have/had so far, feel free to add ideas to the list.

Regions
  • Africa (jungle, dunes, desert)
  • Southern Europe (mediterranean, sea, sun)
  • Northern Europe (scandinavian, snowy)
  • Middle Europe (moderate climate, forests, rain)

Locations
  • Archeological excavations (e.g. Africa, ala "Portal", C1M6, C2M0_A)
  • Submarine shipyards (e.g. Scandinavia, ala "Arctiv Wolf", C2M6_A, C2M6_B)
  • Towns of '45 (e.g. Central Europe, ala "Medal of Honor" sniper mission, C3M3)
  • Castles (e.g. Central Europe, ala "RTC Wolfenstein" (C3M6, C2M3)
  • Underground Laboratories (C1M0, C3M2)
  • Prisons (C1M2, C2M1, C3M2)
  • Airship (e.g. "LZ 127 Graf Zeppelin", more at Wikipedia, C3M5)
  • Train (e.g. Enjays train map, kinda Blood, just more militaric)
  • Nuclear Weapon site (stop a nuclear weapon from being launched, timed mission)
  • Vulcano site on island with a power facility (C2M6_C)

Missions
  • Defend a bridge against incoming enemies (C1M5)
  • Assassinate one specific enemy, sneak in and get out again (ala "Metal Gear Solid")
  • Open Battlefield (ala "Operation Overlord", partially in C1M3)
  • Excavation site(ala "Portal" (C1M1, C1M6, C2M0_A)
  • Castle Wolfenstein, finally the chance to mix Nazis with occult stuff like Hitler Ghosts (C3M6)
  • Laboratories of "Operation Eisenmann" where the mutants are coming from, story-driven (C1M0)

Speaking of regions and locations... you mentioned on shutbox something like an Italian plot/extra mission... what about a Venice map? It could be added between superwaffe & Scandinavia plots, also I think we may add an extra/plot mission at the very start of Central Europe stuff: LZ SS Hindenburg mission (notice that it's SS and not 129, because it was from 1939 and we are in 1944)!
While I don't know if I had necessary skills/time in doing them, I'll see what I can do for the purpose anyway, expecially on gathering useful textures/graphics. If you like these ideas. :cool:

[EDIT]: Found this really useful Wars of the World History Site ... I think this will be fundamentally useful for Intermap slideshow stuff...

I have an idea for an excavation level.
The plan would be to have a large hanger door in the side of a cliff in the desert. The player would fight a group and then open the hanger door. After the door had been opened the player would fight the group inside of the base, and make their way down to a large elevator platform (large enough to have room for several tanks as well as supplies)
The platform would have a lot of crates and supplies on it and as it went down into the large shaft the player would get to see a few of the places that they would need to get to later through windows in the shaft wall as well as on ledges on the shaft wall.
When the platform finally stops at the bottom the player would fight into the facilities at the bottom and up to the windows they had seen on the way down. Perhaps they'd unlock an inner chamber and either end the level and go on to the next level, or it could be used for a boss fight followed by a inter-level slideshow with some victory text.

@Ozy - An airship "in air" would be awesome, or maybe even you enter it, it starts its engine and you are in air, clouds passing by and the sun going down while you battle nazis onboard,

@zrrion - Awesome idea, I added this to the main post as well, maybe that's something you could take care of as you already have a certain idea of the setting :)

I didn't play Hellbound, while knowing of such wad... I took a look rapidly to youtube and my idea is enormously different from it: a disguise mission in Venice, with usable gondolaes on river + a new fake weapon (useful only when needed and not IDKFAble) that makes our hero a sneaky one (ral22 on ZForums has done something for the purpose), until we get a nazi uniform.

Then it's time to go on a party near Piazza San Marco, speak with people in order to catch some clues for were to find our objective (a man, a woman, a prisoner, a spy, an artifact, an akten :-), a weapon...) then after the pickup/rescue it's up to us to kill everybody or sneak through the party and leave it from the back door...

For the "kill or sneak" part, if we have somebody to rescue then we can add ZSDF stuff for the purpose like:
1)Follow me, I want vengeance
2)Take this uniform [another one, not mine] and disguise with me
3)You give your uniform, the spy/prisoner flees, then gib all.

It's not a so easy process, but with some patience and practice I think we can get rid of this stuff... exactly this is something Skyrim inspired IMOH, but we don't want to RPG BoA indeed? :-)

There is an option to assign a keybinding to show objectives. It's in the same group as "quick-kick," and "toss grenade."

Is it possible to have an item auto-activate and continue doing so every ten seconds to continually give a buff to the player? Unsure how to organize this code.

Yeah, I was gonna say lol. Just put in weapon.slotnumber and assign it. Kinda irritates me that's not include most of the time but oh well.

If it's a matter of not being able to pickup a weapon, then the weapon is missing sprites for its Ready state.

I think those cheats won't give you weapons which don't have a weapon slot assigned to them.

What is the non-switchable weapon problem? As in it won't appear in-game after putting it in your project even with idfa or idkfa? Or something else?
