[C1M1] Operation: Speerspitze was created by Tormentor667
Plot
Operation: Speerspitze leads BJ to Tunis. Heavy Nazi-action for no reason, time to check what's happening here. At the end BJ finds some information for the headquarters, needs to be decoded so nothing obvious yet. You will get back to Tunis later in the game though for some excavation site infiltration, but this is only meant as a little interlude to WolfenDoom - Blade of Agony.

I think this map is finished, just two suggestions:
1)The first image on OP spoilers, where we see some sort of biohazard laboratories: purple waters doesn't warp/move, also I think we can use some purple lights for general ambience in it.
2)Bronze key room needs breakable windows in it, and I think this goes to many other windows from many other levels. It's hard but doable (I can get rid this stuff for you, always if you want :wink:)

I have taken a closer look at this:
1) It should warp, the ANIMDEFS entry is there, the sector has the right texture attached (shortname) and there are purple glowing lights in there. I don't want to go overboard with it as my plan is to slowly introduce the EISENMANN content.
2) I know about that issue but atm I see some problems with breakable windows: First we need a generalized script for them (no problem, it's very similar to the mirror breaking script), second we need a way to let the player know which windows are breakable and which are not. E.g. in C1M5 I don't want all the windows to be breakable because it would break the route throigh the map. So generally making all windows breakable is no solution but next to that, players need to easily know which ones are and which ones are not.

When a window is breakable, it could be more transparent than non-breakable ones. Also I was wondering if we may resolve in a FAST way the problem without any script, just 3d breakable transparent/translucent objects (that may clamp inside sectors with no significative visual issues).

That's a good idea but it is definitely hard to handle, you have to take care of any possible window size and beyond making sure that it doesn't bleed out of its sectors. "more/less" transparent windows are hard to notice if you don't have a comparison in my eyes. A better solution would be to have two different textures/structures.

But if we use non-solid 3d actors (3 or 4 of them must be ok, like 64x64 - 96x96 - 128x128 and 144x144 sizes) spawning at the very center of them an invisible destroyable actor (that will release shards when dying, even removing the 3d object itself) I think we're in. We may encounter some problems only if we plan to use them inside rooms like c1m5 bar. BTW, there's plenty of solutions out there, it's such a pity that UDMF doesn't support lineids anymore :-(

In any event, the keycards *should* work out-of-the-box, provided you are using them in a ZDoom-format map (as opposed to a legacy Doom 2 format map).

I didn't have such a rosy opinion of the GBA Doom II, unfortunately. Great from a technical perspective, but SUUUPER sloppy everywhere else.

LOL. My GBA has no gems so lovely as those. And our SNES also lacks Doom. Tho for SNES im more interested in classic RPG's - Secret of Mana or FF6.
