The Inquisitor is back!

##### The Inquisitor is back! "Eh? What? I have never heard of the first part at all!" Anyway, most propably a lot of people will have this problem that I have, but nevertheless, The Inquisitor 2 has just been released and it looks and plays like a blast. It's one of those times that out of nowhere, someone releases a project you have never waited for. Shadowman's recent release is exactly that. So what says the author about his work? "It's a single map about doomguy who got into an unfamiliar dimension and had to disentangle local troubles to get the opportunity to return home. This wad is a prequel to the previously released "The Inquisitor", narrating the events leading up stories that take place in "The Inquisitor". ...well, I guess it's time for me to look for the sequel erm... prequel... erm... whatever now. Meanwhile, feel free to check part 2.

The Joy of Mapping 4: Summer School

Starting July 1st at 12AM EST, The Joy of Mapping is returning again to help mappers young and old to get the spark of creativity that they need to make and finish a map all of their own. This time round, you could be joining a crack team of mappers (new and adept alike) to create a whole episodic megawad of material together. And it'll only take a week to map it all. Check out the threads on ZDoom and Doomworld for more information. A countdown timer til the event starts can be found here. See you there!

The Legend of DOOM TC

A conversion that aims to faithfully bring the original NES land of Hyrule to life in the GZDoom engine. The DOOM and Zelda games have been huge sources of influence and inspiration for detwelve personally. Now adays he finds the fandoms and creator communities that have grown up with these franchises equally inspiring. He has long held dreams to see this world realized in 3D and to create a DOOM mod. This is his first project and he has a great time learning ZScript and the basics of how to develop something for the GZDoom engine.

The mod, nobody ever expected

Does anyone of you still remember Eriance and his ambitious project Demon Eclipse? A addon for Doom with countless self-drawn new enemies and weapons, unique detailed maps and a totally thrillng experience? Well, then you might also still remember that this project has been cancelled a few years ago, the drama has been terrible but nobody was able to stop Eriance from his decision. And out of nowhere, the dead has been resurrected: Hell Forged is the successor to Demon Eclipse. Thanks to Tarnsman's feedback from some time ago, he's convinced Eriance (now called Amuscaria) to focus on the Hell-tech theme of Demon Eclipse instead of having two essentially different games in a single package. Hell-Forged is currently planned to be a single 9-map episode set in another world being invaded by Hell. Although Episode 2,3, and 4 were designed and much thought put into them, it's unlikely those will be completed. The focus is for Hell-Forged's 9 maps and ~dozen new enemies and bosses. More information can be found at the development thread.

The music guy is on air

##### The music guy is on air
Jimmy91 simply seems to have a confession, and it's Doom music, or at least music for Doom he is writing. For about two months now you can follow him on his livestream from time to time in his own channel, and even check some of the sessions which already have been passed since then. So if you are curious or just want to see how creative and musical people get their tunes done right, you should stay tuned and look for any upcoming livestream Jimmy has planned so far - it's worth your time and very entertaining. More info can also be found on the Doomworld thread.

The Phobos Incursion

incursionJust spotted a new release at the Doomworld forums from Dave Billing which has the promising title The Phobos Incursion. The project is a new episode 1 replacement for Doom which does exactly what you might expect: Deliver 9 new maps from scratch heavily inspired by Knee-Deep in the Dead. It catches the look and feel perfectly and also gameplay-wise is a very interesting experience you should definitely try. Check the release thread and the authors homepage for more information and also a download link.

The Power of OTEX puts deathmatch maps at the forefront

Texture packs give Doom a new fresh lick of paint to its existing gameplay, but quality packs are a work in and out of itself. Ukiro's OTEX pack is one such work that stands among the top of the hill. The Power of OTEX mapset puts four maps together in this little project by Kinker31. As you can tell by the thread, the maps look fresh, vibrant, courtesy of the OTEX pack that is used. But what is more rare is that these maps are made for Deathmatch and Deathmatch related modes. As maps of this kind are currently far and inbetween, let alone made for Boom level format, the Power of OTEX has its charms. Get your friends together and put aside the differences as you battle eachother in these fresh new DM maps.

The power of three-dimensional pixels

##### The power of three-dimensional pixels
For some of you who haven't heard about these nifty little pieces yet, there is something called voxels. Consider them as 3d-pixels which have been part of several games in the past based on the build engine like Blood or Shadow Warrior. What's so cool about them? Well, they are 3d without using models, and it's just so much cooler and more retro than anything else. DooMAD is propably agreing now as he is working already for years on a voxel project for Doom. A revived thread can be found here and I hope all of you voxel artists join him now to finish the job - it's about time.

The Refinery - Trinity released

Lately I am really enjoying spicing up my old projects from time to time. It's nothing that "I have to" or that time plans demand from me, it's something I can work on when I am interested in doing. For the past year I have been working on a remaster of The Refinery with the title Trinity. There has been some bashing around when it was released in 2012 (let's simply forget about the "Shores of ZDoom" drama) and maybe it was released in a certain rush back then. Anyhow it wasn't released the way it was meant to be so I took the time to finish it up, adjust the gameplay, exchange some actors, add some new content and on top of it all, enhancing it with a 3rd playthrough that totally shuffles the cards again. Give it a try, at least three times before you wipe it of the harddrive again. It might be fun.

The repository needs your help

First of all, I want to thank Blue Shadow and Gothic for their amazing work in the past years when it came to sorting and adding new content to the Realm667 repository. You help has been priceless and the community benefited a lot from your effort - so thank you for that.

Both have ended their active involvement here a few days ago, so the Realm667's currently submission-status is on hiatues, the submission forums are locked. But that hopefully won't stay forever that way if there are volunteers who are interested in helping to keep the repository alive. If you are used to GZDoom/ZDoom editing and modding and if you have little knowledge about content management systems (it's quite easy, promsied), drop me a line at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with some information about you and why you might be the right one to do this - looking forward to your emails until then :)
