The Flashbang explodes in a blinding, disorienting flash after a small delay, stunning all enemies in the surrounding area.
Just be careful using this one up-close, since it can also blind you and other marines just as much as it can blind them.
Primary launches it overhead for a longer reach, secondary launches it underhand for a quicker, more immediate deploy.
